US President Donald Trump took stock of his 365 days in office from the podium of the White House briefing room. Before Trump began speaking, the president's staff distributed copies of a press release that spoke of "365 victories in 365 days."
As he took to the podium, Trump said he would not read the "book" of his accomplishments that the White House produced for attendees.
"We've done more than any other administration so far in terms of military, in terms of ending wars, in terms of ending wars. Nobody has seen anything like this ," Trump says.
During his remarks to the media, Trump briefly touched on the issue of Venezuela, mentioning María Corina Machado, the country's opposition leader who presented Trump with her Nobel Peace Prize medal earlier this month.
"Maybe we can involve her in some way ," Trump says, calling Machado a very kind woman.
He then moved on to immigration operations. Trump spoke about immigration enforcement operations in Minnesota and noted that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested 10,000 undocumented residents, all of whom he called “criminals.”
The American president also spoke about his visit to the Davos Forum in Switzerland, where he jokingly stated that he was being welcomed there with great joy.
" I'm going to a beautiful place soon, Switzerland. I'm sure they'll be very happy to welcome me ," Trump said as reporters burst into laughter.
Recall that Trump is expected to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland tomorrow, where his threats to impose tariffs on allies if they do not agree to the US buying Greenland have been widely discussed.
