The young man shot dead by the US Secret Service at Mar-a-Lago has been identified as 21-year-old Austin Tucker Martin from North Carolina. He was reported missing by his family a few days ago. Also, according to initial information, he does not appear to have a criminal record.
Martin drove into the secure perimeter of Mar-a-Lago before being shot and killed early Sunday morning. He was from North Carolina and had a gas can and a rifle, according to Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.
Guglielmi said a gun case was discovered in the man's vehicle after the incident, which occurred around 1:30 a.m. local time.
After entering near the north gate of the property, Martin was confronted by two Secret Service agents and a Palm Beach County sheriff's deputy, according to Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, who shot him dead after he disobeyed orders.
