Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of the Chechen Republic, has rejected hints that he had health problems.
The official social media channel of Kadyrov, a staunch ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, released a video on Wednesday and denied reports that he was in poor health.
Asked about reports that the 46-year-old was being treated at a Moscow hospital, the Kremlin said this week it had no information on the matter.
But a video posted on Kadyrov's Telegram channel shows him sitting by the bed of a man said to be "our dear uncle Magomed Abdulkamidovich Kadyrov" and kissing his hand and head. However, it is not clear when this video of Kadyrov was recorded, reports Reuters.
"Glory to the Almighty, I am alive and well and I do not understand at all why there would be a fuss even in the case of my illness" , asked Kadyrov.
The media have reported that Putin's ally is in serious health condition.
