Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army, Valery Zaluzhny, may be abroad.
"I think I know. I think Valery Zaluzhny is abroad. But I could be wrong," Putin said during a conversation with Russian journalists.
A month ago, Russian media reported that Zaluzhny was injured. Ukraine's Ministry of Defense has denied the news, but the commander-in-chief of Kiev's army has not appeared in public for days. Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyarhodhi dismissed reports of Zaluzhny's injury as speculation.
