DP hid the source of the payment; suspected use of CEC electoral funds and a 700 thousand euro bribe from the drug boss, Kliti Hoti. The phantom foundation “Make Albania Great Again” is also involved
SPAK has begun verifying the procedure and source of the amount of 6 million USD that the Democratic Party will pay for the removal of Sali Berisha's "non grata" stamp in the US, using 72-year-old Albanian-American pensioner Nuredin Seci as a guarantor.
The investigation should start precisely from the first payment of 750 thousand USD that the DP gave to the American lobbying company "Continental Strategy LLC", on the day the contract was signed on April 4, 2025.
The main question is: Where did the DP find 750 thousand USD, at a time when Sali Berisha and Flamur Noka themselves have publicly stated that the former leaders have not left a single penny in the party's accounts?
Was the state fund of 880 thousand Euros that the CEC gave to the DP in two installments, as support for the electoral campaign of May 11, 2025, used for the first payment?
SPAK should also take into account the public accusations made on March 19, 2025 by the former Democratic leader of Shkodra, candidate Xhevdet Amuli, who in a debate with Sali Berisha openly accused the latter of having received bribes in the amount of 700 thousand euros from two candidates, to include them in the closed list of DP deputies in Shkodra.
One of these candidates, according to the denunciations of the DP branch in Shkodra, is Kliti Hoti, the drug lord and financier of the “Albanian Children” foundation, which is run by Liri Berisha. It was Hoti who was placed as a candidate on the DP list for MP in Shkodra, without going through the primaries and without the approval of local structures.
These accusations also coincide with the dates of the signing of the lobbying contract, which was signed only 3 days before the final drafting of the DP candidate list. Immediately after the publication of this list, Amuli filed his complaint for the 700 thousand euro bribe.
SPAK should also investigate the concealment of lobbying payments behind the Albanian-American phantom foundation "Make Albania Great Again", created just a week before the lobbying contract was signed.
It is an urgent task for SPAK to transparently clarify the source of this gigantic fund of money that is being used to clean up Berisha's image, as suspicions are that the sum of 750 thousand dollars was obtained precisely from dirty deals on the eve of the elections./ Pamphlet
