With only a few hours left until the deadline for registering candidates for the leadership of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, the candidacy criteria are being released, which determine the exclusion of Salijanj. According to the official announcement published only this afternoon, anyone with a final conviction will not be allowed to run.
After declaring him self-excluded as a collaborator with Edi Rama and a number of criminal groups, Berisha decides to suspend Salianji on the grounds that he has punished Edi Rama.
Until a few months ago, he was saying that Salianji was being held in political prison on the orders of Edi Rama. Today, the sentence on the orders of Edi Rama becomes a reason to be excluded from running! And this is determined by someone who, according to the statute he drafted with his own hand, cannot run categorically.
The statute clearly and without question states that the President who fails to take power in the elections is automatically removed from office by the party leader and is not allowed to run again. Berisha claims that the elections were stolen from him and he did not lose (while this is irrelevant to the statute), while Salianji, who (according to him) has also been politically convicted with Rama's falsifications, and for whom the statute has no obstacle, cannot run!
The dramatic and ridiculous situation of the DP is that, in its deepest crisis, it is going to the elections without a contest. At a time when everyone knows that the current president cannot come to power, no one comes forward to rival him. And when, finally, someone decides to enter the race, they hinder him and allow in the race only those whose statute does not allow him to run! It seems that everything is backwards for shame and black face.
