Don't you see it's all been a power struggle?
Living life has been a plea for conquest, for rule and struggle for existence.
The wolf does not care at all and will not know what the sheep thinks about him. But his life depends on the sheep.
The general will not know what the citizens of the city he has conquered by war and rules that city with his army think, that the conquest is the life of the general's success and his political power.
The dictator will not know what his numerous citizens think of him, he only seeks their fear and his rule over them; social fear to gain his rule over them; because all the others, for him, come after that.
The intriguer will not know what social consequences his intrigue will bring, he only wants to realize it even though it creates a great destruction, because destruction is his conquering, but also revengeful goal.
The winner of a war who does not respect the loser with the humane reason of the winner, soon becomes a loser himself.
Don't you see it's all been a power struggle? Why today, isn't that still the case? It is the same today, but developed civilization has tamed Europe, because it has been creating power with votes for two centuries. However, the winner of taking power with the votes of his society, in most cases, has softened the means, but not the purpose and reason of power, which in depth is still rule. But, at this time, democracy brought rule to continue as rule through law.
But has this been achieved to the end?
In Western civilization this has been achieved, even in developed democracies outside of Western Europe, and in America; but the third world is seen to still have a hard time. Because, in these countries, often, the winner chosen by the vote of the citizens of his country, has turned into a dictator.
But, our time will continue like this: law, democracy and political power that came between free and fair elections.
How blessed is that people who have achieved it!
