This is the new Albania: where the farmer has no land, no money, no hope, but he has faith...
With a trembling voice and the prime minister's microphone in hand, a farmer in Lushnja explained to the Prime Minister today that the land he works is unregistered due to bureaucracy. He also told him that even though he is retired, he needs to work to live.
He didn't ask for solutions, grants, agricultural reform. Nothing. He ended the complaint with a wish from his heart:
"Enjoy your fourth term!"
It didn't seem like he had said anything big and added: "even the 5th term"
But the story of the Korça farmer, made viral online through a video with sound and image, is even more inspiring:
Gray as a Morava peak, honest as a prophet, with his eyes on the sky and an axe in his hands, he cut down one of the two apple plantations, not out of anger, but out of economic logic: apples from abroad come cheaper.
And yet, with half the production on fire and his heart full, he declared:
"I will vote for the SP, because it has made many reforms!"
Yes, yes! Reform. Reforms that left his production without a market, burned his profits, but cleared his conscience: now he has no dilemma about who to vote for.
This is the new Albania: where the farmer has no land, no money, no hope, but he has faith. His faith is called “Mandati IV”, a new religion that preaches: a European passport by 2030!
