Two people accused of murder, a crime committed in Greece in 2008, have been arrested by order of the Korca Prosecutor's Office.
Gëzim Latja and Armando Tarushllari (aka Jetnor Cinellari) have been arrested as suspected perpetrators of the murder of 25-year-old Arjan Xhambazi in Athens in 2008.
According to an official announcement, the arrested are citizens Gëzim Latja and Armando Tarushllari accused of murdering their compatriots in Greece. They are charged with intentional homicide.
The citizens in question appeared on May 7, 2024 at the premises of the DVP Korçë to be questioned about their involvement in the murder of the citizen Arjan Xhambazi, on December 23, 2008, in Athens, for which the prosecution is being carried out investigations which were resumed on December 28, 2013.
From the investigative actions as cited above, carried out dynamically and in the function of a complete and comprehensive investigation of this criminal case, a reasonable suspicion based on evidence has been created and evidence that citizens Gëzim Latja and Armando Tarushllari have consumed elements of the criminal offense "Deliberate murder", committed in collaboration, where citizen Arjan Xhambazi was the victim.
Under these conditions, the prosecutor of the case ordered the immediate detention of the suspected persons. After the execution of the arrest orders, the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the Korçë General Jurisdiction requested the appointment of the personal security measure "Arrest in prison" for the citizens of GL and AT alias JC, as suspects of committing the criminal offense "Murder intentionally", carried out in collaboration, provided for by Article 76 and 25 of the Criminal Code, with the victim of the criminal offense, citizen A. Xh., with the aim of making them available to the investigation body, for the complete clarification of this criminal event .
The event took place in Athens, Greece, in the flower garden "Karamali Kipseri", where after a physical conflict between two groups of Albanians, using strong tools such as knives and sticks, Arjan Xhambazi, from Pogradeci, was killed.
