The perpetrator of yesterday's violent robbery at a market in the Yzberisht area of Tirana has been arrested.
The 40-year-old threatened and injured the saleswoman with a knife to get money from the cash register.
The supermarket employee who was injured in the hand by the knife the perpetrator was holding, while trying to stop him.
"The services of Police Commissariat No. 6, following the intensive investigative actions carried out to solve the theft committed yesterday, at knifepoint, in a market in Yzberisht, organized and finalized the police operation "Intervent".
As a result of the operation, the suspected perpetrator of the theft, citizen ET(T), 40 years old, resident of Tirana, was identified, apprehended on Rruga e Qelqit and placed in handcuffs.
"The supermarket employee who was injured in the hand by the knife the perpetrator was holding, in an attempt to stop him, received treatment and left the hospital. The procedural materials will be passed on to the Prosecutor's Office for further action," the police statement said.
