27-year-old Albanian Xhulian Përdoda has been arrested in Malta after being on the run. He was sentenced to 18 years in prison in absentia for a bloody murder committed in Brussels in 2016. The incident took place on August 11, 2016.
It is learned that Përdoda stabbed 35-year-old Abdelaziz Bouhali to death after an argument at the Café & Taverne 54 bar in the Alhambra neighborhood.
Belgian media reports that the victim was stabbed more than 20 times. Xhulian Perdoda was identified a few days after the incident and was on the international wanted list, but managed to evade justice until his recent arrest in Malta.
Robert Frroku, the 24-year-old Albanian who was extradited to Belgium in 2020, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison. Frroku is accused of murdering 35-year-old Abdelaziz Bouhali, while Xhulian Përdoda was an accomplice.
Frroku and Xhuljan Përdoda were both found guilty of the incident in question.
Robert Frroku returned to Albania on March 20, when the borders had not yet been closed, while his trial was suspended on March 16.
The young man with the surname Frroku was unable to pay the rent and returned to Albania, but a few months later he was extradited back to the country where he was awaiting sentencing.
How did the incident happen?
Frroku and Xhuljan Përdoda, then 22 years old, are accused of stabbing 35-year-old Abdelaziz Bouhali to death during a fight in a bar in Brussels on August 11, 2016. The cause of the murder was the fight for control of the cocaine market.
After reviewing the cameras and collecting evidence, investigators identified Frroku as the perpetrator of the murder. The latter was arrested after an international arrest warrant was issued against him on August 19, 2016 by Serbian police. He was later extradited to Belgium.
The court also issued an arrest warrant for Përdoda as an accomplice in the murder. According to the camera footage, the victim pepper-sprayed Frroku and then attempted to stab him. The Albanian retaliated by taking a knife from the bar and stabbing Bouhali 20 times, while Përdoda shot him 7-8 times.
