The Rrapaj family in Kuman, Roskovec, has opened the doors of the morgue after the tragedy that occurred yesterday afternoon, where 80-year-old Shefit Rrapaj shot and killed his wife, 75-year-old Dashuri Rrapaj, with a rifle, and then killed himself.
The burial of the two victims will be held separately.
Dashuri Rrapaj will be taken to his last residence in Allambreas, Berat, where his daughter is, at 1:00 PM, while Shefit Rrapaj is still in the Fier morgue and his body is still not being retrieved by his family.
The couple's 9 children are in the apartment where the double crime occurred and, in a very difficult emotional situation, will accompany their parents to their final apartment.
The boy's testimony sheds light on the tragedy in Fier
New details have come to light regarding the serious incident that occurred in the village of Kuman, Roskovec municipality, where an 80-year-old man killed his wife and then ended his own life.
According to police sources, the son of the Rrapaj couple stated in his testimony that at the time of the crime he was in Fier for a medical consultation, a fact also verified through security cameras. He indicated that his father was known as a conflicted person, while the last fight between them had occurred about 10 days ago for a trivial reason.
The conflict had started after the son had thrown fertilizer on the potatoes planted in the yard, an action that had angered his father. "Why are you throwing fertilizer on the potatoes," the 80-year-old is said to have said, an argument that later ended up at the Roskovec Police Station. According to the testimony, the mother, Dashuria, always stood by her son during these clashes.
The boy confessed that after returning from Fier, he found his parents dead in their apartment. He initially notified a cousin and then called the police.
Preliminary investigations show that the weapon used in the crime is of an old type and is suspected to have been hidden since 1997, as it was found covered in dirt.
According to the expert, the gun was fired twice: one bullet took the life of the wife, while the other caused the death of the 80-year-old man, who is suspected of committing suicide.
The investigation team is continuing its work to fully uncover the circumstances of this serious family tragedy.
