Two people have been arrested after they are accused of having cheated with car insurance in order to unfairly benefit from compensation from the insurance company. Armando Kallmeti, a 22-year-old resident of Nikël, and Igli Topalli, a 25-year-old resident of Tapizë, were taken into custody.
On 04.10.2024, around 14:00, on the "Valias-Tirana" road axis, citizen Armando Kallmeti, driving a "Benz" type vehicle, lost control and as a result the vehicle went off the road.
Then, in order to unfairly benefit from compensation from the insurance company, citizen Armando Kallmeti, in cooperation with citizen Igli Topalli, staged a collision of his vehicle with the "Volkswagen Golf" type vehicle driven by citizen Igli Topalli, and has submitted to the verification agents of the Traffic Police, false data about the vehicle being insured.
They are accused of the criminal offenses "Insurance fraud" and "Actions that prevent the discovery of the truth", carried out in cooperation, provided for by articles 145 and 301/25, of the Criminal Code.
