A 29-year-old Albanian man was arrested by the Italian police after they found 16 kilograms of cocaine in the car he was driving. The incident happened in the Ponte San Giovanni area, Perugia, while the officers were conducting checks.
They spotted a vehicle that was driving fast and at the time of the stop, the driver seemed quite nervous and worried, so this led them to perform a check on his car, writes Ansa.
At the bottom of the luggage, the police found 15 packets of cocaine hidden. The young man with no previous criminal records is charged with the criminal offense of possession of narcotics for the purpose of sale.
By order of the public prosecutor, he was held in Perugia-Capanne prison, pending the validity hearing.
