The State Police have arrested 23 people following the end of the opposition protest in Tirana, which started in front of the Prime Minister's Office and ended near the Democratic Party headquarters.
According to preliminary data, the detainees are suspected of being involved in the incidents recorded during the rally, while actions are ongoing to identify other persons involved.
Today's protest took place in a tense atmosphere, with some protesters using fireworks and Molotov cocktails. In response, police intervened with tear gas, water cannons and pepper spray to disperse the crowd and restore order.
Meanwhile, according to an official police announcement, 6 police officers were injured as a result of the clash with protesters.
