A 46-year-old woman has fallen into the hands of the Korca police after she profited 3 million euros by defrauding various businesses through the post office where she worked.

The 46-year-old during the period 2021-2023, in which she worked as an agent of private postal services in Korça and Pogradec, is suspected to have embezzled the amount of 3,000,000 euros through fraud.
The arrested person, acting as an agent of private postal services, was delivering various postal packages, on behalf of third parties, and the monetary sums she collected from customers, she did not transfer to the account of the selling commercial entities, nor to the company that performed this service. .

The operation, finalized after 2-month in-depth investigations by the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes, under the direction of the Korca Prosecutor's Office, for the crackdown on illegal activity in the field of fraud with serious consequences.
The 46-year-old woman was arrested for benefiting from significant amounts of money by not collecting payments from customers who received postal services from the private company in which she was employed as a private postal services agent.
2 vehicles used by this citizen are seized.
Specialists of the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes of the Korçë Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the Korçë General Jurisdiction, after 2 months of investigations, finalized the coded operation "Postmail", as a result of who was detained as a citizen:
- AB, 46 years old, living in Korça.
From the in-depth investigative actions, it appears that this citizen, during the period 2021-2023, in which she exercised the function of the agent of private postal services in Korça and Pogradec, is suspected to have embezzled the amount of 3,000,000 euros through fraud. The 46-year-old woman, acting as an agent of private postal services, delivered various postal packages, on behalf of third parties, and the monetary sums she received from customers, she did not transfer to the account of the selling commercial entities, nor to the company that performed this service.
This citizen is suspected to have invested the significant amount obtained in the purchase of real estate and commercial businesses, on behalf of herself and her family members.
As material evidence, 2 vehicles, used by the 46-year-old woman, were seized.
Work continues to identify and bring to the fore the legal responsibility of other citizens, suspected to be involved in this fraud scheme. The materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Korçë General Jurisdiction, for further action.
