The dead bodies of the elderly couple, Kosta and Kleoniqi Ilia, were found by one of their neighbors, after a call from the granddaughter of the 84-year-old from Athens, who wanted to know about their fate as she was unable to contact them.
The neighbor went to their apartment and found the 84-year-old man lying on the doorstep next to the table with a hit mark on the side of his head. While the 88-year-old woman was lying lifeless inside the room, with signs of violence on her body.
After finding the dead bodies, the police were notified and arrived at the scene.
While the event is shrouded in mystery, as it is not yet known whether it is a family crime or a robbery, while the investigative group has requested the forensic pathologist from the capital to prove through DNA traces whether there is any foreign factor in this crime, or is murder between them.
According to the latest information, it is known that the head of the family had come from Athens for 5 days after receiving his pension, which seems to have become a 'disagreement' between the two elderly people.
It is learned that the elderly man suffered from mental health problems. The couple had no children and lived only on a pension from Greece. So far the investigative team has not found the crime weapon (cold weapon).
