A tragic event has shocked the Albanian diaspora in Canada. A young woman of Albanian origin identified as Savannah Kulla, 29, was shot to death by her husband, Anthony Deschepper, 38, in a parking lot in the Brampton, Ontario area.
The crime occurred at noon, in the presence of passersby, when Deschepper pulled out a gun and shot his wife, a mother of four, leaving her dead on the spot. After the crime, he took their one-year-old daughter and drove away towards the Niagara region, alerting authorities who immediately declared an Amber Alert.
A few hours later, the baby was found unharmed by his family, while Deschepper himself was located by police at a gas station in Niagara Falls. During an attempt to arrest him, he was killed by law enforcement. Another woman was also inside the vehicle, who is currently facing charges by the Ontario Special Investigations Unit.

The incident has shocked the Brampton community and beyond. Flowers and messages of condolence have been left at the scene of Savannah's death. Peel police have called the case a "homicide due to intimate partner violence." Kulla is the tenth victim this year in Peel Region.
