Police officers in Britain discovered a cannabis factory in Grimsby during a raid on a property and found the "cultivator" hiding in a closet.
It was about a 28-year-old Albanian, who admitted to the court the charge of producing cannabis.
Prosecutor Michael Forrest said that the police carried out the operation at the apartment in question during the night hours on March 19. They discovered 2 rooms adapted to grow cannabis. About 50 cannabis plants were found in them. As they searched for possible signs of life, they heard a noise coming from a closet and found the Albanian inside.
When questioned, the young man told police officers that he owed money to people who smuggled him into Britain. His role was to water the cannabis plants and he had been at the property for over two months.
The judge in the case sentenced the 28-year-old to 19 weeks in prison, while saying that during this time the possibility of his deportation to Albania will be considered.
