An international drug trafficking gang, active between Florence and Prato, has been destroyed by the Italian police.
Since the early hours of the morning, the military, under the coordination of the DDA of Florence, have implemented five arrest warrants, of which two with prison and three under house arrest, against the criminal organization composed of people of Albanian and Romanian origin.
After investigations, it was discovered that the gang had established its operational base in Prato and was able to bring large quantities of cocaine, hashish and marijuana into the Florence area and then resell the drugs throughout Tuscany.
The criminal association was structured in such a way that it took care of every stage: from the supply of narcotics, transportation, as well as drug processing to retail trade.
According to police, the gang has demonstrated strong stability over time, continuing to remain very active even after several arrests.
During the investigations, two people were arrested red-handed and a total of 5 kilograms of cocaine, 100 kilograms of marijuana and hashish, along with 676 thousand euros in cash, as well as two pistols and 500 cartridges of 9×21 caliber were seized.
