The 36-year-old woman who had an accident a week ago while crossing the white lines in the "Ali Demi" area has passed away.
The accident happened in the late evening of January 14, when the pedestrian Merita Ferracaku was crossing the white lines and was hit by a Skoda vehicle.
For a week, the woman involved in the accident has been under the care of doctors at the hospital, but unfortunately she died tonight as a result of the injuries caused by the accident.
In connection with this accident, the Tirana police have arrested a 22-year-old man.
"Regarding a news published on the portals, which is about an accident that happened in the "Ali Demi" neighborhood, we inform you that: On 15.01.2024, at 01:30, the arrest of the RA citizen was made, 22 years old, resident in Tirana, for the criminal offense "Violation of traffic rules" and the materials have been transferred to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana for further procedural actions.
This citizen, on 14.01.2024, around 11:00 p.m., in the "Ali Demi" neighborhood, near the "Kushtrimi i Lirisi" school (in the direction of Shkoza), in the pedestrian crossing, caused an accident to the citizen MF, 36 years old, living in Tirana, who was injured as a result of the accident and was sent to the hospital for medical assistance.
During the check of the documentation of the "Skoda" type vehicle, driven by the RA citizen, no deficiencies were found, and after the alcohol test, it was found that the driver of the vehicle had not consumed alcohol.
This evening, as a result of the injuries received from the accident, the MF citizen passed away.
The police are continuing to carry out further procedural actions", the police announced.
