A 46-year-old Albanian man has been arrested in Italy after being caught with over 863,000 euros in cash.
During a police check, the 46-year-old was caught with over 200 thousand euros hidden in his car in vacuum-sealed packages of banknotes of various denominations.
Police officers seized the money, considering the possible illegal origin of the amount, as they continued to search the house in Lecce, Italy.
They found a sum of money of around 633,850 euros hidden in a wardrobe divided into "bundles" of banknotes of different denominations. In total, over 863,000 euros were seized.
The 46-year-old of Albanian origin was arrested for money laundering and transporting valuables, in collaboration with other yet unidentified persons.
