The family of Gjerogjia Murat, the 41-year-old murdered by her Greek partner, are still shocked by the tragedy that engulfed them. In another statement, they have described the pain, while they consider the macabre murder of their daughter as a consequence of a deep hatred of the author.
The family announced this Monday morning that the 41-year-old was killed by her partner, in cooperation with his friend, both of whom have now been arrested.
The lawyer representing the victim's family said that some materials were found in Georgia's house, which show what had happened all this time that the 41-year-old was in a relationship with her accused partner.
"These elements show the manipulative behavior of this man towards Georgia and a general "brainwashing" that had created an absolute emotional dependence," the legal representative emphasized.
As for how she lost her life, she emphasized that her injuries are the result of the perpetrators' hatred. "What the family knows from people who saw her body is that the injuries were particularly severe and quite cruel. Her murder was done in a form that proves that there was hatred. This indicates the intensity of the injuries. The cervical vertebra was also destroyed, beyond the cervical area."
The two arrested persons are being investigated and are expected to be sentenced for a series of serious criminal offences, such as premeditated murder under qualifying circumstances, violent termination of pregnancy, robbery (all in collaboration), as well as illegal possession and use of weapons .
Initially, the 39-year-old partner of the Albanian insisted that he had no involvement in the murder and that he was asleep on the fateful night.
"Georgia was the only person I had in the world. I will not confess to something I did not do. That night I took three sleeping pills and I didn't understand anything, the next morning I woke up. I am not the one who appears in the video", he said in front of the facts that proved his movements before and after the murder.
According to the information, the investigator asked her several times and focused on the pregnancy of the 41-year-old, where he argued that he initially did not agree with the termination of the pregnancy, as the victim wanted, but would support her decision.
