
Police have begun gathering evidence in the murder of judge Astrit Kalaja. The latter was shot three times in the courtroom, raising concerns about security in the justice system.
The perpetrator managed to enter the courtroom with a firearm and the toll could have been even more serious. Police are understood to have first escorted the security guard, who was responsible for preventing illegal items from entering the court. He is being questioned about the circumstances of the incident.
Other members of the court staff who were present at the time of the incident were also brought in for questioning, as well as other persons who may have been parties to the legal proceedings that were being held at that time.
