A criminal gang of Albanians, Dutch and Lithuanians has been busted by the Spanish police after seizing a quantity of cocaine hidden in bags of heating pellets being transported by truck.
New details have been revealed from the dismantling of the drug gang in Spain, as five people have fallen into the hands of the police after an anti-drug operation, where 16 tons of pellets containing cocaine were seized.
Local media write that the members of the criminal organization of Albanian, Dutch and Lithuanian origin imported the narcotics through Spanish ports.
As part of the police action, the agents arrested five people, who are suspected to be members of the gang, which specializes in large-scale drug trafficking through the use of containers.
According to the Spanish authorities, those arrested were importing the drugs through sea containers.
During the test, it turned out that the pellet contained cocaine, while 920 bags of this product were seized, weighing 18 kilograms each, in total 16,560 kilograms.
The organization had two industrial warehouses in Reus (Tarragona). The first of them was aimed at preserving and cooling the substance, while the second was used for packaging, sealing and storing the drug after it was extracted from the material in which it was camouflaged.
From the checks carried out, 5 kilograms of synthetic drugs - speed and MDMA - 3965 euros in cash, two hydraulic presses, material for the production of narcotics, a truck and a vehicle were seized.
In the second warehouse, agents discovered more than five kilograms of various synthetic drugs and equipment used for the production of narcotics.
Members of the organization smuggled the drugs through Spanish ports, using sea containers. To do this, they used very sophisticated concealment methods, camouflaging the drug in various materials to make it difficult to detect.
