Two people are in custody after the discovery of a drug laboratory and two cannabis plots in Mirdita.
During the checks in the village of Shtuf in the administrative unit of Kaçinar, two plots with 220 cannabis plants and a specially adapted environment for drying and preparing the drug for sale were discovered. In total, authorities seized about 33.7 kilograms
The arrested are two 31-year-olds, Preng Marku and Kristian Pima.
"The police operation, codenamed "Processing", was finalized with the discovery of two plots of narcotic plants and an environment adapted for their drying, in the village of Shtuf in the Kaçinar administrative unit.
As a result of investigations using proactive methods and in cooperation with the Operational Sector, it was possible to discover:
220 cannabis plants, which were destroyed by burning (a portion was seized as material evidence);
About 33.7 kilograms of suspected narcotics, in the process of drying;
An environment specially adapted for drying and preparing drugs for sale.
The police arrested:
Preng Marku, 31 years old, resident of the village of Shtuf, caught red-handed in the environment where narcotic plants were being dried;
Kristian Pima, 31 years old, resident of the village of Arrëz in Mirdita, previously known for a criminal record in the field of narcotics.
Authorities announce that investigations are continuing to identify and detain other persons involved in this criminal activity.
"The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Lezha, for further legal action," the police announced.
