Interior Minister Taulant Balla was today at the Economy Committee where the draft law "On the State Police" is being considered.
During the discussions, PD deputy Edmond Spaho told the minister that today some farmers who protested in Korça were fined 1 million lek each. He emphasized that the farmers will not be able to make that money to pay off the fine.
"The police fined them 1 million old lek which they cannot collect, this is being on the side of the oligarchs. You should raise these issues to the prime minister and tell him to think a little about the poor people of the country", said Spaho.
Minister Balla said that "your freedom ends where the freedom of another begins", saying that the police have done their job, since the protesters had blocked the road.
"No one can block the road, and the police are doing their duty," Balla replied.
