Prime Minister Rama has declared that as long as he is at the head of the Socialist Party, he will not undertake to exonerate anyone.
After the arrest of Erion Veliaj, Prime Minister Edi Rama said that for the time being, this political force will not undertake to grant innocence to anyone being investigated by the judiciary.
During his speech at the SP group meeting, Rama emphasized that they are no longer silent in the face of violations. He also said that according to him, only an idiot or a clown could say that from now on we control justice.
"As long as I am at the head of the Socialist Party, I will not undertake to grant innocence to anyone who is investigated by justice, but unlike yesterday, from today onwards this political force will not remain silent in the face of flagrant violations and brutality and anyone's exercise of the now consolidated force of independence, only an idiot or a clown can say that from now on we control justice. No, we have officially received the certificate that our hands are far from justice, but we are not here as fence posts that follow the news to give endless support and then fall to our knees with or without wanting to episodes like this.
At a minimum, the chairwoman of the Laws Committee should have been called and asked, where are we here, in which republic are we here. It is enough for someone to talk about someone and it is enough for this rumored person to be brought out by name and surname at the crossroads of the night without being asked at least minimally. There are many things that are not right, which are reasons for everyone's joint reflection because everything has been built with effort, thanks to the dedication and will, the work of prosecutors and judges, it cannot collapse, but on the contrary it must be protected and strengthened by highlighting all the holes and all the concessions of the new wall of justice", said Rama.
We recall that Rama yesterday leveled accusations against SPAK, declaring that it dismissed the mayor of the capital, to lock him in a cell without trial and also locking his wife in the house. He stated that the private life of the mayor of Tirana is being investigated, since there are no charges in the corruption investigation.
Rama further said that what is happening with Veliaj is outside the bounds of the Constitution. He also emphasized that he would not dismiss Veliaj from the position of Mayor of Tirana.
"Not only will the mayor of Tirana not be dismissed from office, but his suspension has given rise to a duty for us to continue to be steadfast guarantors of justice, promoting as much transparency as possible to uncover the truth. Whatever it may be," Rama declared yesterday.
