Analyst Lorenc Vangjeli has warned of shocking news for the entire dark world of crime, but not only.
Invited to the show 'Contrast' on Report TV, Vangjeli revealed that very soon there will be a signed agreement between Albania and the United Arab Emirates, which in practice reject extradition.
The analyst predicts a hot winter of developments, since this agreement can also be signed with Belgium, where some of the exponents of crime use it as an umbrella to hide.
"This is shocking news for the entire dark world of crime and not only. At the moment, there is a diplomatic procedure through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the authorities of the United Emirates, who in their practice refuse extradition. They have also rejected it from other countries. But something important has changed in recent months. The United Emirates has signed an agreement with Spain with certain conditions, and I have the impression that under a great deal of pressure, either from the US or the EU, there may be a solution. However, I don't know how fast it will be. Albania has 4 requests sent for the extradition of very important figures of the world of crime, 3 of them for murder and one of them for drug trafficking. Add here a series of sensational names that probably mean nothing to the public in the literal sense. In the local areas where they come from, or from the financial powers created mainly by drug trafficking, mainly cocaine, that have found refuge there. Winter can be scorching again in Tirana. Because this agreement can also be signed with Belgium, where a part of certain segments of crime have Brussels as a permanent base.",said the Gospel.
According to the analyst, this shocking news was also accompanied by concerns in Parliament, because eventually these arrests, which he describes as sensational, will affect politics as well.
"If you have noticed in these 6 months, there have not even been high-profile murders, which means that crime is waiting, because you feel that the ground is moving under your feet. You understand that Dubai, the oasis where they could hide, is already drying up and will remain a desert, and this will have a big consequence in politics. Even in the Parliament, they were worried by the release of this news, although they do not have detailed information about it," Vangjeli said.
The Ministry of Justice submits 3 draft agreements to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to forward to the United Arab Emirates related to extraditions. Their goal is the extradition of convicts and wanted persons who take refuge in this country, with which Albania has no agreement.
