Former Democratic MP Ervin Salianji has reacted to Sali Berisha's accusations, emphasizing that the leader of the DP operates with an old political mindset, built on decades of personal control and power over the Democratic Party.
According to Salianja, the problem today is not the critical voices within the DP, but a leadership that has lost touch with reality and the people's trust.
Salianji categorically rejects any attempt to label or align him with a particular "wing", emphasizing that he has not been and will not be part of political bargaining.
He claims that he has paid a personal price for his positions and that he continues to speak openly about what, according to him, many Democrats think but do not say publicly.
In an even harsher tone, he accuses part of the leadership of constant defeatism and lack of inspiration, adding that attacks on him are simply a way to avoid responsibility for political failures.
"Answer Sali Kolltuku; 36 years in power at the expense of the Democrats have created the mindset that everyone has an obligation to be his slave. There is nothing older in politics than when someone who has lost touch with reality tries to invent enemies to hide their fear of competition. Comparing me to anyone else is the easiest way to avoid the essence: today the problem is not the Democrats who want victory, but the fact that part of the leadership has lost the trust of the people and is afraid of any different voice. I have not ended up in anyone's "arms". I was and am free, as I am saying today what everyone thinks: they despise Sali Kolltuku for the usurpation he has made of the Democratic Party, but they curse him with all their might only at the tables. I have not been and will never be part of the bargains. I have been in the face of power, not in its service. And for this I have paid a personal price. Those who today talk about the "destinies" of others should see their own political destiny: a leadership that no longer inspires, that no longer wins and that avoids any real confrontation. When you have no answer for failure, you invent stories. When you have no support, you attack anyone who stands up. Understand that I am your problem, because with Rama you have sat cross-legged for reforms, you have sat for permits, licenses, concessions, benefits. Come out and talk about Ermal Beqiri, about the permits of your family members in Lalëz, in half of Tirana, in the south and everywhere in Albania. As for the gysras, ask those closest to you how they divided the bargains, including the intervention in the court for my sentence. As for Olti Gjoka that you mention, let's say a few things: when you came to prison, you did not come to meet me, but you asked to meet these people. It is not my fault that you had lied to these people and they did not come to meet you. You brought Lulzim Basha and kept him and forgave the party. You have made the wrong calculations with me: I will dismantle you and the autocrat government. The Rama-Berisha regime is despised by Albanians! And since you have support, enter the race, don't hide like a coward," writes Salianji.
