The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has accused Prime Minister Edi Rama that the scandals involving his government have taken on international proportions.
During a conversation with followers on social media, Berisha focused on the National Agency for the Information Society (AKSHI), which he said has become a "gold mine" for the prime minister, his wife Linda Rama, and brother-in-law Armand Frangu.
According to him, businessman Ergys Agasi donated considerable sums to the prime minister in various forms, while, although declared wanted by SPAK, he continues to move freely in the country.
"His big family black hole is AKSHI, in which Rama, Linda and Armand Frangu had the gold mine. They have robbed Albanians of hundreds of millions of euros. To achieve this, Rama in 2017 issued a government decision by which all tenders in IT would be made only by AKSHI. So that AKSHI would have hundreds of millions of tenders. Ergys Agasi, the 33 thousand euro wine that was given to Rama for lunches and dinners, was accompanied by another 200 thousand. So, the wine box contained only one bottle and the rest was filled with 500 euros," said Berisha.
He further claimed that Agasi continues his activities despite the investigations, also mentioning construction on seized properties.
"Agas or alias Edi Rama, is free. He walks freely, is accompanied by the police, continues work on the seized properties. The law therefore does not exist, what remains is the civic revolt. Let us join May 8 in the most powerful protest that Albania has known against the regime that is openly stealing from its own people like no other," Berisha added.
Excerpt from Berisha's speech:
Today Edi Rama is in a real panic, he considers himself hopeless, but in the meantime he does everything to keep afloat. You see that his scandals have taken hold. They have become European and global, his thefts and looting of public assets are unstoppable. His attitude towards Albanians at a time when prices are rising due to the crisis from the war in the Middle East, in Albania they are hitting massively, but we are the only country in Europe that has not taken any mitigating measures. The billions from the increase in VAT that are being taken from Albanians' pockets are growing more and more, while farmers are also being stripped of the oil subsidy they had.
So, his total indifference towards farmers, towards pensioners, towards those who cannot be treated with the pension they receive for even 15 days. Total indifference towards those who are on economic assistance and who are told to live on 34 euros a month. Towards those who use public transport. Meanwhile, companies have halved the use of buses due to the crisis. A government that functions only for itself, for the enrichment of its members, and their family circle. The law that prevents and protects citizens from the abuse of officials is called the conflict of interest law, this law has been leveled to zero. The example was first given by Rama himself, where with his signature and seal he gave his own brother 38 thousand square meters of land, he has extended his black hand in all concessions.
Every one of his concessions turns out to be a great theft of extraordinary proportions, but he was not satisfied with concessions alone. His big family black hole is AKSHI, in which Rama, Linda and Armand Frangu had the gold mine. They have robbed Albanians of hundreds of millions of euros. To achieve this, Rama in 2017 issued a government decision by which all tenders in IT would be made only by AKSHI. So that AKSHI would have many hundreds of millions of tenders. Ergys Agasi, the 33 thousand euro wine that was given to Rama for lunches and dinners, was accompanied by another 200 thousand.
So, the wine box contained only one bottle and the rest was filled with 500 euros. Agasi or alias Edi Rama, is free. He walks freely, is accompanied by the police, continues work on the seized properties. So the law does not exist, what remains is the civic revolt. Let's join May 8 in the most powerful protest that Albania has known against the regime that is openly stealing from its people like no other.
