Former President of the Republic, Bamir Topi, has responded to the accusations of the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, who recently accused him of enriching himself by using the Democratic Party.
Topi called Berisha's statements baseless and described him as a "depreciated figure," who, according to him, repeats the same political model for three decades.
"A depreciated figure does not give hope. Berisha has been playing the same game for 30 years and this method no longer works," Topi said.
The former president also expressed criticism of the state of the Albanian opposition and right, emphasizing the lack of alternatives and political thought.
"Today the opposition has an extreme poverty of ideas. Everything depends on a single person and the right has been left without hope. There is no reaction, because the leader holds the lists in his hand," he told Breaking.
Topi's statements come after a previous reaction by Sali Berisha during an online conversation with citizens, where a commentator asked him why he did not invite figures like Lulzim Basha and Bamir Topi to the opposition protests.
This question caused the irritation of the leading democrat, who reacted by describing them as "pseudo-intellectuals" and calling them "a disaster for the nation."
