Albania held its fourth intergovernmental conference with the EU today. After the meeting, Prime Minister Rama appeared at a press conference with the Polish Foreign Minister, as Poland holds the presidency, and Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos. Rama thanked the latter, speaking more freely than necessary.
" Sincere thanks go to the EC and Commissioner Marta Kos, who, as I once said, broke records and became a champion of her country, has now become a stopwatch for our countries, ensuring that every move takes us forward. Let me emphasize that together with the commission and Marta's leadership, we have agreed on a very ambitious agenda. We look forward to all the group chapters being opened by 2027. We are here to reconfirm our determination to achieve this objective. I am sure that for Albania, the EU is much more than a political or economic ambition, it is an existential life choice. We know and have learned that our individual freedoms, equality before the law, cannot be guaranteed anywhere else but within the EU. Thank you very much, I know that you have a lot of work to do and you have been extremely dedicated to this part. Thank you Marta for trusting us, pushing us without hesitation and kicking us in the ass when needed ", said Rama.
