Blendi Fevziu spoke about the candidates expected to be in the race for the Municipality of Tirana, predicting a strong showdown between Ogerta Manastirliu and Florjan Binaj.
Fevziu stated that the opposition had no other option but to support an outside candidate, because there were no internal figures who could run. However, the journalist said that candidate Binaj, although coming from the world of art, could turn out to be like Ukraine's Zelensky, who was also a comedian.
" I think the opposition was unprepared. Maybe it was their mistake. From the first moment of Veliaj's arrest, it was known that he would not return to office, he would not go to such a serious extent and return to office. The opposition should have been ready for the elections starting from February-March of last year. It itself demanded Veliaj's dismissal and did not prepare. At the last moment, the opposition could not put forward a candidate. Alimehmeti refused to join. So the opposition had no choice but to build a coalition with a figure not directly its own. Then, did it choose Ermal Hasime, did it choose Binaj, I'm starting with the phenomenon.
The DP today does not have any figure who can run in Tirana. Luçiano Boci, who lived in Elbasan, cannot put him as a candidate in Tirana. Bylykbashi, who lived in Durrës. Gjekmarkaj lived in Tirana, but is very connected to Lezha.
While in the SP there are figures that you can use, you can put Blendi Klosin, other figures, there are more people who have a connection to the city.

While Manastirliu has the structure of the SP, she has been a minister for 10 years, probably the longest-serving minister in Albania that I remember. She has administered Covid, worked as minister of education, without any major product there, because the pandemic was in Health, that's why she was identified there. She is an important figure in the SP, among Rama's strong loyalists because she comes from the small group of Rama's Municipality. Rama has made choices to unify the party structure, to keep people who could be loyal to Veliaj connected. She is also seen as a guarantor for Veliaj's group.
"Qori is a candidate who has no chance of winning, he runs in every race, he keeps his electorate charged. As in the elections, it is a good choice that he runs, so should others, to keep their electorate, but the battle is between Manastirliu and Binaj ," Fevziu said in TPZ.
