The Democratic Party held its third national protest today within 2026, on the anniversary of the toppling of the bust of Enver Hoxha.

After three hours of tension, Molotov cocktails, tear gas and water cannons, the DP protest has ended. It was its leader Sali Berisha who announced the end of the rally from the party headquarters. Unlike other times, Berisha threatened to attack the Socialist Party headquarters. According to him, the police threw gas at the DP headquarters and this gives them the right to do the same.

" Today, Edi Rama has thrown gas at the DP headquarters. I warn him that if he dares to attack this headquarters, his headquarters will not sleep. I say to Edi Rama, it is the greatest effort for us to contain the citizens and their attacks on the headquarters of crime. But they are ready at any moment to make them non-existent. Therefore, do not express your hatred for pluralism by throwing gas canisters at the DP headquarters. We are peaceful insurgents, but we do not tolerate the attack on our headquarters. Once again, give up the attack on the headquarters. We are absolutely ready from morning until midnight to respond as you deserve ," he said.

Berisha warned that the protests will continue and said that the date of the new rally, which will be nationwide, will be announced.

The Democratic Party held its third national protest today in 2026, on the anniversary of the toppling of the bust of Enver Hoxha. The rally was accompanied by strong tensions and clashes with law enforcement, initially in front of the Prime Minister's Office building and then near the Parliament.

A group of protesters threw Molotov cocktails and fireworks at the Prime Minister's Office, briefly setting the building's entrance on fire. Officers intervened immediately and extinguished the fire. In response, police used tear gas and water cannons to disperse the crowd.

Tensions then shifted to the Parliament, where clashes and tension again occurred. Throughout the protest, there were reports of significant use of tear gas, affecting protesters, citizens, and journalists on the ground.

A protester was hit in the head with a tear gas canister, while there were allegations that rubber bullets were used. Police began escorting, while plainclothes officers escorted several people.
