The media personality, who has been an MP for the DP his entire life, dismissed rumors circulating in the media that the DP is losing MPs to form other parliamentary groups.
" I do not expect a functional Parliament, because one of Rama's goals has been to disfigure the Albanian Parliament, to not give it the legal and constitutional authority it has. And moreover, this Parliament comes from manipulated elections. So I think the Parliament will simply be an appendage of the government.
On the other hand, regarding the opposition's actions, I have had discussions with Berisha and we have agreed to have as many parliamentary groups as possible, because this gives the opposition more breathing space in the Albanian Parliament. There is a deliberate one-sided interpretation by the media as if they are taking away deputies from the DP.
"It is not like that at all. We are a body of deputies that emerged from the coalition of the May 11 elections. But the creation of groups has the effect of a more rational debate if it is well combined and focused on the issues that the opposition prioritizes ," Mediu said, among other things.
