The Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime today accepted SPAK's request for the coercive measure of house arrest against former Prime Minister Sali Berisha.

In the decision signed by judge Irena Gjoka, Berisha must not leave the apartment and not communicate with other people except those who live with him. Also, the court has decided to accept SPAK's request that Berisha be supervised by the police.

"The citizen under investigation, Sali Berisha, is ordered not to leave his apartment located at the address: "Mustafa Matohiti" Street, Building 36, Entrance l, Nd. 036, Administrative Unit no. 2, Tirana and not to communicate with other people except those who live in the same apartment with him. The Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, represented by prosecutors Arben Kraja and Enkeleda Millonai, is charged with the execution of this decision. The supervision of the implementation of the security measure "house arrest", provided by article 237 of the Penal Code, as well as the orders defined in this decision, shall be controlled by the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime and the judicial police services, at the General Directorate of the State Police", states the decision of GJKKO.

The court also declares that it charges the two prosecutors Millonai and Kraja with the execution of this decision.

An appeal can be made against this decision within five days, in the Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime.
