Adriatik Lapaj, the leader of 'Albania Becomes', has reacted strongly to the police officers who violently intervened by removing the tents of the protesters who had been placed in front of the Prime Minister's Office on Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard.
The removal of the tents was accompanied by tensions and clashes, while it is reported that some supporters of "Albania Becomes" were escorted by civilian police officers.
Police officers have been accused of violence, even against minors and the elderly, while Lapaj, in a reaction, states that the police destroyed chairs, heaters, and tents.
He appealed to citizens to provide 100 chairs and gas heaters, within their means, thus giving the signal that the protest will continue without interruption.
"You want the one who steals from you, you want the one who comes to you with a Molotov cocktail, you don't want me who comes to you as the son of a former police officer," were some of the words that Lapaj addressed to the police officers.
He continued the accusations by saying that the police do not want citizens who protest peacefully, but, according to him, serve those who incite violence. Lapaj also mentioned the names of other senior officials, accusing them of subordinating the State Police to political interests.
"You don't want me to respect you, you want those who come with Molotov cocktails," he said, emphasizing that the protest held by him and his supporters was peaceful and without incident.
