The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, has sent a congratulatory telegram to his Ukrainian counterpart, Zelensky, on the occasion of Ukraine's Independence Day.
While evaluating the relations between the two countries, the head of state writes that Albania has decided to raise the level of its diplomatic presence in Kiev.
"Allow me to take this opportunity to express my satisfaction for the friendly relations between our two countries, which this year celebrate their 30th anniversary, but also to appreciate the sincere connection between our two peoples, thanks to the early Albanian diaspora in Ukraine. In this 30th anniversary, as a sign of our desire and will to be as close as possible to Ukraine and to further intensify cooperation, Albania has decided to raise the level of its diplomatic presence in Kiev", writes the president.
The head of state also reiterated Albania's steadfast stance towards Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
"I take advantage of the opportunity to reiterate Albania's clear and steadfast position in defense of Ukraine's territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence. I assure you that Albania will continue to contribute to the Security Council and the General Assembly of the United Nations, but also with diplomatic and military support, as we share common Euro-Atlantic values and interests", concluded Begaj.
