The Prime Minister, who is also the leader of the Socialist Party, Edi Rama, left messages and tasks for the members of the Socialist Party Presidency, during a meeting held this morning.
The focus of the Presidency meeting was the organization of internal elections in the party, while the Prime Minister asked the members of the Presidency to go out into the field, to meet with the people. Meanwhile, regarding the time when the National Assembly of the Socialist Party will convene, a date has not yet been set, even though one of the points for which the Prime Minister had called the Presidency meeting was precisely this.
The meeting of the Presidency of the Socialist Party lasted only 30 minutes, where the socialist leader chose to define tasks. During the discussions, it was requested to start meetings with structures and supporters on the ground, as part of a process of reorganization and coordination of the ongoing political activity.
And based on the messages and tasks that Rama has left to the members of the Presidency, it seems that the Prime Minister has unofficially launched the campaign, perhaps for the local elections expected to be held in the spring of 2027.
"Go out into the field and talk to people, meet citizens", was one of the messages that the Prime Minister left to the members of the Presidency. But on the other hand, it is learned that Rama is expected to start a tour of meetings with members and supporters of the Socialist Party throughout the country, which further reinforces the idea that the socialists are starting the campaign engines more than 1 year from the time when the local elections are expected to be held.
And while on the one hand, through the Special Commission for Territorial Reform, the number of local units on which the country will be organized is expected to be determined, on the other hand, Rama is preparing to start meetings, which he has also requested from the members of the Presidency. He has previously requested the same from the SP deputies, whom he has left a message to meet with citizens in the areas they cover.
The meeting of the Presidency of the Socialist Party comes at a time when Prime Minister Edi Rama, just 5 months after the creation of the Government after winning his 4th governing mandate, has presented the change of the government cabinet in 7 positions, including that of Deputy Prime Minister.
Rama has changed the ministers of Foreign Affairs, Interior, Infrastructure, Defense and Justice, positions held by Elisa Spiropali, Albana Koçiu, Belinda Balluku, Piro Vëngu and Besford Lamallari. The latter has taken on the function of Interior Minister, while Koçiu that of Deputy Prime Minister, without having a ministerial portfolio.
