"A big victory for Rama!", Alibeaj: The opposition was sold out very cheaply for the new Parliament Regulation
Former Minister of Justice, Enkelejd Alibeaj, has criticized the agreement between the majority and the opposition on the new Rules of Procedure of the Assembly, calling it a political bargain in favor of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
In a television interview, Alibeaj said that the agreement between the SP and the DP is not related to the public interest, but to narrow political interests. According to him, the opposition has agreed to merge its votes with the majority in exchange for some small procedural benefits.
He stated that the changes to the Regulation strengthen the Civic Initiative Commission and remove the possibility for the head of SPAK to report to the plenary session.
Alibeaj also criticized the fact that the majority maintained the structure with 11 parliamentary committees, while the opposition, according to him, only benefited from the increase in the number of councilors and the leadership of several friendship groups in the Assembly.
According to the former Democratic MP, the agreement between the parties risks limiting the space for new political entities and their representation in Parliament.
"The surprise is how you can unite votes with such a person, become part of the regime, give your contribution to embellish the tarnished portrait of the regime and Edi Rama. I do not agree with the electoral reform. The markers have been laid. They can make a change in the law, making it impossible for new subjects to have representation and be part of Parliament. I do not agree with the Territorial. They are attracted to uniting votes and wills, not in the public interest. The public interest distinguishes what agreements and bargains are. They are bargains. For today, I had the opportunity to take a look at the changes in the Regulation. The Civic Initiative Committee, the one headed by Xhafaj, has been super-empowered. They have removed the possibility for the head of SPAK to report in the plenary session. The PS again maintained the division into 11 committees, as in September. What is the benefit of the opposition? They were given the right to increase the number of councilors from 8 to 11, to lead some friendship groups in Parliament! And when they are penalized by Niko and his friends, their salary is reduced. I was surprised how it is possible to sell yourself for so little?! The big victory was Rama's", Alibeaj said on A2 CNN.
