Prime Minister Edi Rama from Dropulli sent a message to his Greek counterpart, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, for whom he said he would like him to be present today at the unveiling of the bust of his father, Konstantinos Mitsotakis.
As he considered Albanians and Greeks as brother peoples, Rama emphasized that it would be good if tensions between our countries did not happen.
"It is enough to have seen him in an archival material of Greek television where he speaks with an aristocratic sense of humor about the stubbornness of his Arvanita wife. This also nourishes the inseparable bond between our two countries, which the past has mixed so much that if the language does not distinguish them, nothing makes them inseparable. I would have liked Mitsotakis to be here today, but surely he will return to this square, as from today the square bears his father's name. I am glad that here with me is a deputy of the "New Democracy", Dimitris Avramopoulos," said Rama.
Referring to the recent tensions between Albania and Greece, regarding the Beleri issue, Rama said that "electoral politics also disturbs the flow of brotherhood", but emphasized that everything will be fixed".
"Unfortunately, electoral politics with its insignificant needs for the destinies of our people disturbs the natural flow of brotherhood since the dawn of time.
But there are things that pass even though it would be good if they didn't happen. It would have been nice if they didn't happen, but sometimes it's easier and sometimes it's more difficult, even fights between brothers who live in the same house happen.
Troubles and misunderstandings not only pass, but make even more meaningful the inseparable bonds between our two peoples and countries, for which the two indomitable opponents, Konstantinos Mitsotakis and Andrea Papandreou, not only had the same conviction, but did what they could in the short time they had power when Albania just came out of isolation", said Rama.
