The head of the LZHK, Dashamir Shehi, analyzing the phenomenon of rising prices in the country, emphasized that the situation is increasingly burdening the needy.
Shehu said that prices in Albania have increased significantly, creating a large gap between income and daily expenses.
He emphasized that government intervention through subsidies at the source, i.e. to large companies and wholesalers, would be an efficient solution to the situation.
"If you distribute the burden among the citizens, the one who is poorest, the smallest, pays it, because when we take the structure of expenses, in a family that has some income, food takes 20 percent, in that poor person it takes 80 percent, so to speak, he feels the price more, than the engineer, the architect, the businessman, in that food is 5 percent. There are two ways here, either we will subsidize these categories, or we will subsidize the source, I am for this. There are 3-4 companies that bring oil, there are 3-4, how much profit they have, that's what we will allow them. I will subsidize the difference as a state.
In Albania, prices have risen as if salaries are 2000 euros. Go and go to the shops now, give a pension to a pensioner and leave the shop, can you fill a cart, not that it is not a question of buying meat and fish, but even these vegetables have become unaffordable. Subsidize them in principle, it is very simple from a financial point of view. Good governments do this job, because this is what governments are for. The rich will get richer, the poor will get poorer. This phenomenon happens every time there is a crisis. This phenomenon is not only in Albania, it is all over the world.
