Shabani reacts to "Pamphlet" regarding the debate about the mandate in Tirana...
An unexpected development occurred today in the ranks of the "Albania Becomes Initiative" coalition, as the candidates began to clash among themselves over the only mandate won in Tirana.
"Albania Becomes" and "Nisma Thurje" entered the elections together, using a different strategy than the major parties. Relatives and family members were included in the closed lists, with the pact that they would resign later and the winner of the mandates would be placed on the open list.
But today, one of the candidates on the closed list in Tirana, Zeqir Kordhoni, claims that he did not know that he had signed to surrender the mandate and is giving signals that he is seeking the mandate.
But the signals are that we are dealing with a clash between Lapaj and Shaban, since the candidate in question is from the "Nisma Thurje", and even a relative of Shaban. The cause of the quarrel seems to have been the failure to keep his word by Adriatik Lapaj, who initially promised that he would not take the mandate, but then changed his mind. If he refused, the mandate would pass to Shaban.
Regarding this situation, Endri Shabani, the leader of the "Nisma Thurje", spoke to "Pamphlet", confirming that he is dissatisfied that Lapaj did not keep his word, even though he states that morally the mandate belongs to him because he received the most votes.
" We had 46 candidates on the closed lists who resigned in writing. The resignations have been filed with the CEC. Some of them, including Zeqir Kordhoni, did not like that Adriatik Lapaj did not keep his word on his resignation and raised claims. However, although I understand them, I think that the mandate belongs to Adriatik, as he received more personal votes than the others. The promise to resign was his personal commitment and cannot be used as an excuse ," he said.
