Why did Edi Rama win so much? Ermal Hasimja: 50% of the electorate has no moral

Political scientist and analyst Ermal Hasimja commented on the May 11 election process in the podcast 'Të Pashoj'.

Hasimja listed the reasons why Edi Rama was voted in by Albanians, even though he had been in power for 3 terms.

Why did Edi Rama win so decisively?

Yes, the first answer is because this is what Albanians want, it's simple, they voted for it, for the reasons he offered, but it is clear that it has nothing to do with the promise of the Albanian passport, because it is clear from all studies that this is not a priority for Albanians, since the moment we have visa liberalization.

I think they voted for Rama for reasons of the system, from which they benefit from a job, a tender, a service.

Apparently people haven't found a major reason to vote for the other party. Here we also have the responsibility of the opposition as a whole.

That they voted for a government despite the problems it has had so far is worrying. Albania has no hope of changing in the future. It may happen that after 5, 10 or 15 years, the country will change. But when you have bad government and it doesn't change, that's a problem.

Is there a consumption bill because the SP received more votes after 3 mandates?

Yes, that's why we are an atypical country, we have that part of the moral standard that about 50% of voters seem to have. This is the problem, it is not a unique case, maybe it has happened in some corner of Europe. It may have happened in the south of Italy in the 50s, due to the influence of the mafia. We are atypical, a part of the electorate has no moral standards at all. When you see crime and corruption, you should at least react. The same situation may occur later. We have the case of the LSI that happened, which after the famous scandal with those lek and percentages that were distributed on the table, from 4 deputies it had later got 19 of them. We have a big problem, if we want to consider it a problem.
