Freedom Party MP Erisa Xhixho has stated that the deliberate devaluation of the European currency is destroying exports in Albania.
According to her, exports for the textile and footwear category have dropped by 20%. This means the closure of dozens of fashion businesses and the loss of jobs for thousands of family members.
"The deliberate devaluation of the euro is destroying exports.
According to INSTAT data, exports fell by 15.4% in 2024, marking the second consecutive year of negative performance.

Throughout 2024, over 10,000 jobs have been cut and around 50 businesses have closed down.
The crisis that the devaluation of the euro has plunged this sector that employs thousands of citizens into is nothing new. The fashion industry has asked for support, but the government has mocked thousands of honest entrepreneurs and employees who today have nothing to support their families.

The wage index has fallen by 21%.

"What has increased is only the flow of dirty money that finances the concreteization of the country. The government is the direct beneficiary of Albania's transformation into a dirty money laundering machine. This government has never prioritized either economic growth or the common citizen ," Xhixho writes on social networks.
