For 6 days now, an IKMT operation has been underway in the Theth area, supported by special police forces, to demolish what are considered illegal constructions.
Over the past few days, several incidents have been recorded that have resulted in clashes, while yesterday an attempt was made to set fire to a wooden bridge to stop the demolition of buildings.
Residents of the area claim that they have built on their land, while state structures say that the construction is illegal.
Since Friday afternoon, Thethi has been placed under police siege with FNSH forces that departed from Tirana in support of the local police.
Regarding this situation, the Democratic Party leader, Sali Berisha, has reacted, accusing Prime Minister Edi Rama of being the fierce enemy of the north of the country.
"Thethi in a state of siege! Tourists flee in panic. The north's fiercest enemy Ramaduro is destroying tourism in Thethi and the north."
"I condemn with the greatest force the state terror of Edi Rama and his uniformed gangs against the residents of Theth," Berisha writes.
