Reformation of the DP? Boçi against: Momentary passion of critics

The election loss gave Sali Berisha's critics reason to demand a deep reformation of the Democratic Party, which should begin with changing the structure, leadership, and organization of the largest opposition party.

In an interview for Top Channel, the deputy leader of the Democratic Party, Luciano Boçi, described the announced movement in the DP as a momentary passion, reminding all those who have a different opinion that the vote determines who should leave and come, otherwise they should look at the faction's option.

The request for the reformation of the Democratic Party, starting with its leadership, has not yet officially reached Sali Berisha's desk. But the doctor's critics will have to wait for the elections or create a faction within the DP to achieve their goal.

The party's vice president, Luciano Boçi, in an interview for Top Channel, speaks out against the move announced by the president's critics.

" How can you remove a person from leadership when the vote or the will of the democrats establishes or removes him? I am totally skeptical. In the DP, everyone has their own different opinion, they can express it, it is something that we have accepted ourselves, we have developed and allowed and we have also accepted the factions, and if someone has the authority to create a faction, let them do it; let them not show it with the authority to remove it. We must build; to destroy is very easy ," says Boçi.

A movement that starts on the example of Foltores, which was followed by the re-establishment of the Democratic Party, has been warned to start in the fall by Sali Berisha's harshest critics. But how is it being received?

" While this seems to me to be a momentary passion, a matter of espionage or even a matter of taking on those actions that attract attention. It will pass! ", he adds.

The revolt of Sali Berisha's critics began after the election defeat was not accompanied by the resignation of the party leadership as a reflection of the election results. The Deputy Chairman of the Democratic Party has a different analysis of what May 11 produced.

" We are saying that this loss is not natural political, it is artificial, it came from organized crime that has also determined the candidates, the criminalization of the administration, vote buying, the violation of the electoral law. SPAK took it upon itself to prevent electoral crime and became a party, so it is not a classic political loss, and in the face of this there is room to adjust, but not to present it as if we have to make a revolution, we have to make a rotation. If we had elections, I would start with myself and I would have resigned directly ," says the deputy leader of the DP.

September is expected to resolve many dilemmas within the largest opposition party. Initially, regarding the relationship with Parliament, the Democratic Deputy Speaker leaves every option open, from a strike to seclusion in the Assembly hall.

" It will be a conditional relationship, it will be a boycotted relationship because there is non-recognition in the middle; there will be strong political action being within the parliament, including strikes and boycotts or other forms of expressing political protest in the Parliament; everything is part of political decision-making ," concludes Boçi.
