The deputy of the Democratic Party, Ervin Salianji, has stated that even though there are divisions within the opposition regarding the declaration of Sali Berisha "non grata", there is a greater need for the opposition camp to unite.
In an interview for ABC News, Salianji said that the meeting at a common table does not square the positions of every MP regarding Berisha's 'non-women', but added that it is not the right moment to discuss.
According to him, currently the public interest and the interest of Albania to have a healthy opposition that faces the government is greater than any difference or individual attitude that each deputy has.
" Without question that yesterday's meeting is about the unification of all opposition factors, that is, more than the elements that divide us and that there may be differences in attitudes, in ideas, in any division that has been public until yesterday, and it is not that there is a secret, it is smaller than the need that the opposition and PD have to be united in front of a government that has almost all the powers in this country. So that the right mechanisms will be found for everyone to have their own position, but not to prevent the opposition from having a unified and common position in relation to the government.
This is what happened yesterday, this is what will continue to happen in the future, to be unified regardless of attitudes. So, the positions from the meeting do not change, everyone, I also personally think that relations with the USA should remain inviolable, but this is not the moment. Everyone has their own positions, but the public interest and the interest of Albania is greater to have a healthy opposition that faces the government, than any difference or individual position that each of us has", he emphasized .
