'Smoke' can be seen above the 'DP' headquarters, is this 'smoke' of a 'torch' of hope for the resurgence of the opposition, or of a fire that will 'crush' it once and for all, this remains to be seen...
The 'smoke' of a new movement within the Democratic Party is already visible from afar. A seemingly simple and small meeting has caused 'trouble' within the DP. Despite senior DP leaders trying to minimize this meeting by calling it simply a coffee among friends, things exploded in 'prime time'.
The head of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, during a television interview stated that the meeting organized by Ervin Salianji was nothing serious, but simply a coffee meeting between democrats.
"I believe that we have come for a serious conversation, not to comment on the coffees that colleagues drink every day. Each of us, when we meet with a colleague, has certain conversations. Salianji is a member of the leadership and has every chance to discuss in the leadership. Alimemeti is the head of the health department in the DP... The focus should be on the government scandals. I don't know if you want to make a news story about colleagues drinking coffee, we drink coffee in the DP every day ," Bardhi said for 'Opinion'
But Bardhi's attempt to use 'Prime Time' to minimize this new initiative within the DP was shot down by the organizer of this meeting, Ervin Salianji. In the message sent to the host of the show, 'Opinion', Salianji emphasized that the very fact that this meeting constitutes news shows the desire of the Democrats for an analysis within the DP. This statement rejected Bardhi's rhetoric and gave a clear signal that there is an 'awakening' within the DP.
"I don't believe I can explain it with just a text message. But I will come to you and talk, I always have meetings because in politics, votes determine hierarchy and weight and any other fraudulent mechanism cannot increase it. The Democratic Party needs renewal and evaluation of merit, I have said this in your studio and everywhere. The fact that the meeting of the most voted individuals makes news shows the hunger of citizens and democrats for a real evaluation and analysis of the problems we have. I hear every democrat and not the most democrat that all of us who were in the cafe have collected more than 200,000 votes for the DP. In short, I wrote to you because now I am still with the democrats. Greetings from Durrës with the last two chairwomen elected by vote in the Durrës branch, the two vice-chairwomen, the secretary and the organizational secretary. Greetings to you ", wrote Salianji.
Bardhi also received a response from Iliri Alimehmeti, who was part of this meeting. Alimehmeti stated that this meeting came about as a result of the lack of space within the DP to discuss the problems the party has and analyze past mistakes. As for Bardhi's statement that the meeting was just coffee, Alimehmeti ignored it, saying that he does not comment on posts on 'Facebook'.
"To be honest, I don't comment on FB statuses. If the National Council wanted to call us, I would go, so there was no opportunity to speak. Leaving the Democrats without discussion brings situations like these, where we have a rotten government that cannot be thrown to the ground, and an opposition that cannot bring people. Why did we come to this round table meeting? This question should be asked to them. They haven't done it and have removed people, we simply continue the work, to understand where we are and where the problems are ," he told 'Top Story'.
Things are not yet clear, but one thing is certain; 'smoke' can be seen above the 'DP' headquarters, is this 'smoke' of a 'torch' of hope for the resurgence of the opposition, or of a fire that will 'crush' it once and for all, this remains to be seen./ Pamphlet
